極楽鳥花
photo:2123678948朝から何を書いたら良いのかボーッとテレビを見ていましたら、アナウンサーの後に極楽鳥花が飾ってありました。
こうなったら藁にもすがる思いで極楽鳥花の写真を、あっちやこっちのDVDを出し入れしてやっと見つけました。もっと真面目に写真の整理整頓しとかなあきません（涙）
この極楽鳥花を初めて見たのが、今から26年前かな？ 母親のお葬式の時に飾られていたんです。
初めて見た時に「珍しい花やな〜何と言う花ですか」って花屋さんに聞いたら「極楽鳥花って言う花です、お葬式には良いと思って持って来ました。」って答えが返って来ました。
あれから26年が経ってるんですが、そんなに一般化してないですね。確かに良く見掛けるようにはなったんですが 、今でも「珍しい花ですね何て言う花ですか」って写真を撮ってると聞かれます。もう少し人気が出ても良い花やと思うんですが私だけかな。
英名は「バード・オブ・パラダイス・フラワー」で、和名はこの訳から来ている説とニューギニアの生息している極楽鳥に似ているからと言う説があります。南アフリカ原産
